Aluminum pellets are solid strip-shaped metallic pigments extruded from flake aluminum powder with wax/resin carriers. They are solvent-free and dust-free, mainly divided into two categories: spray-free plastic grade and printing ink grade. Their core function is to endow materials with silvery metallic luster and chrome-like finish.
1. Plastics Industry (Largest Application Field)
(1) Spray-free Injection Molding (Mainstream)
Directly blended with plastic pellets for injection molding, eliminating the surface spraying process. It reduces VOC emissions and production costs. Applicable substrates: ABS, PC/ABS, PP, PE, ASA, PS, PET, etc. End products:
- Automotive: Interior & exterior plastic parts, bumpers, central control housings, door handles
- 3C Electronics: Mobile phone casings, earphones, chargers, mouse housings
- Home Appliances: Casings for washing machines, TVs, water purifiers, vacuum cleaners
- Daily Goods: Plastic luggage, helmets, toys, bathroom accessories
(2) Production of Silver Masterbatch
Used as raw material for metallic silver masterbatch, which is further applied in film blowing, extrusion and injection molding.
2. Printing Ink Industry (Resin-based Aluminum Silver Strips)
Carried by resin system. After being soaked and dispersed in solvents, it can be made into metallic inks:
- Gravure printing, flexographic printing, screen printing
- Cigarette packages, food flexible packaging, labels, laminated paper
- Gift boxes, plastic film printing to achieve bright silver metallic effect
3. Other Minor Applications
- Coatings: Partial industrial coatings and metallic paper coating (less common; aluminum silver paste remains the mainstream)
- Composite materials: Modified plastics, profiles, metallic surface coloring for artificial boards
