What is the shelf life of non blade aluminum powder?

  1. Unopened dry powder non blade aluminum powder: Standard 12-month warranty from mainstream domestic manufacturers; Some imported/silicon coated high-end models can last up to 24 months.
  2. Opened dry powder aluminum powder: significantly shortened, recommended to be used within 3 months. Exposure to air moisture can cause oxidation, blackening, agglomeration, and a decrease in metallic properties.
    Overdue usage instructions
Exceeding the shelf life does not mean direct scrapping, but a small test must be conducted before use: testing for dispersibility, metallic hue, paint film gloss, and the presence of agglomerated particles. Once aluminum powder turns black and clumps cannot be dispersed, it is prohibited from being put into production.
    Key factors affecting shelf life
    a. Coating type: Aluminum powder coated with silicon dioxide/resin double-layer coating has better oxidation resistance and longer shelf life; Ordinary stearic acid coating has weak stability.
    b. Temperature and humidity: High temperature and humidity will accelerate the oxidation of aluminum flakes, and the shelf life will be significantly shortened.
    c. Packaging integrity: Leakage or damage to the lid of the barrel will quickly render it ineffective.
